Day One of the AIMS and we have our Indoor Bowlers ready to rock and roll!
Today is the Individuals tournament...
a great start was made with 6 out of our 7 bowlers winning their first game.
A massive congratulations to Georjia and Rome for qualifying
for the finals day on Tuesday -
Good Luck!
Student Report from Chloe:
On Monday, seven of us (Chloe, Mya, Ashlee, Rome, Toby, Rachael and Georjia) headed to the ASB Arena where the Indoor Bowls singles event for the AIMS Games was to be held. We walked into the massive building and saw heaps of people and 40 mats! We met many new people who were very good indoor bowls players. Most of us had at least one win out of our four games and fortunately, two of our players, Georjia Bell and Rome Fielden won 3 out of 4 games and qualified to go to the next round today. Go Tauriko! Thanks to our coaches Mole and Craig who have coached us for many weeks so that we could compete in this event. Also, thanks to Mrs Carolyn Bell for cheering us on and supervising us all day at our tournaments.
Unfortunately, Brooke C was unable to attend yesterday as she has been unwell but hopefully, we will see her on Wednesday for the pairs competition.
