We are Problem Solvers

A key focus for us in maths has been the use of problem solving strategies.
We are learning to apply different strategies independently when we are looking for solutions.

Some of the strategies we select from are:
* work backwards
* create a table
* trial and error (guess and check)
* solve a simpler problem
* act it out
* draw a diagram
* look for a pattern
* make a model

Each day we have a problem to solve, we then share our thinking.

For example:

Reflect on the strategies you use when you are solving problems.
Share your thinking.
* Which strategy do you prefer to use? Why?
* What strategy are you developing?

    My strategies that i use the most is find a simpiler way.

    rounding up to the nearest 10s because its easy to work with and you can do tidy numbers.

    i used the strategy guess and check because i thought it would be easier to find the answer.
    i am devolping the workiing backwards strategy.
